Why startups are focused on the Internet of Things?

Untitled-1

As technology is expanding, people want everything to be connected to Internet, may it be our front doors, microwaves, blenders or our tube lights. When everything will be connected to each other or to Internet, the world will entirely change.

According to studies, by 2020, there will be 38.5 billion connected devices. And,According to Gartner,

there will be 25 billion connected devices and IoT vendors will take home more than $309 billion.

All these surveys indicate that IoT will be firmly embedded in our daily lives. IoT offers new opportunities for start-ups all around the world. Anyone with good idea to connect anything like accessories, wearable’s, etc., can bring it to market.

As the IoT evolves in industries, so are the startups focused on it. Reason? The increasing demand of connected devices. Just imagine, our refrigerator orders for milk and vegetables, which are required, of its own. Won’t it make our life very easy? Yes, it will. And, it is IoT. That refrigerator is connected to internet and it will order from grocery website. The startups with such innovative ideas will really succeed.

Why Startups are focused on IoT?

There can be various reasons like they want to go with the tide or want to earn a lot in less time. Whatever the reason be, startups who are focusing on IoT know it well that they can gain huge profit.

In nutshell, the world has got first real glimpse of fully-grown IoT and what it will look like.

IoT and Cloud Computing

IoT and Cloud Computing

Internet of Things and Cloud Computing are two different technologies and both are part of our life. The use of these technologies is expected to increase and make them important components of Internet. Let’s understand these technologies in brief.

What is IoT?

IoT means connecting devices to internet or network connectivity and enabling these devices to share data. Currently, there are more than 12 billion devices connected to Internet and survey estimates that by 2020 the connected devices will increase by 26 times.

Cloud Computing

Cloud computing is internet based computing which allows computers to share data, resources and information. It focuses to maximize the effectiveness of shared resources. Its services can be private, hybrid or public.

In private cloud, services are delivered to internal users from business data center. In public cloud, third-party delivers cloud service over Internet. If talking about Hybrid cloud, then it is combination of public cloud services and private cloud. The goal of Hybrid cloud is to create automated, unified and scalable environment.

IoT Cloud Computing

From the above description, we can say that Cloud Computing works as front end for accessing Internet of Things. As the adoption of IoT technology is increasing so are connection of things. All this will produce large amount of data which needs to be stored, accessed and processed. The combination of IoT and Cloud Computing can help to sense services and processing of data stream.

Characteristics of IoT Cloud Computing

  • On Demand self service -This means that IoT Cloud computing is there for you when you need it.
  • Broad network Access- There are lot of connectivity options for IoT cloud computing.
  • Rapid Elasticity-This means that you get what you need.

In nutshell, these technologies are dramatically changing our daily life and will change more lives.
